Deacon Kerns has always had a love for GOD in his heart and home. Deon dedicated his life to Christ in 1979 at Gethsemane Baptist Church of Davidson, NC.  He is the loving son of his “Hero” The late distinguished Deacon James West Kerns and loving “Songbird ” Mother Gloria Jean Wilform Scott and Bonus Son of Mr. Rueben Scott of Charlotte, NC.

Deacon Sgt. Kerns is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and after traveling all over the world and seeing things of war, he never lost his faith in GOD, as GOD always kept him covered.

Over the years, he has led several ministries for Veterans, a Mentorship program for youth, taught Bible Study, lead men to Christ and all over the world and served in whatever capacity he could to help those that were in need. He is also the owner of Before and After LLC providing services to VA, NC, SC, GA.

Deacon Kerns has an unmatched heart to serve people, regardless to where they are in their journey called life; from broken to healed. One of his greatest assets is to love GOD and Family. 

On August 29, 2022, GOD made a way for Deon and his childhood crush, Pastor: Dr. Rose Ann Feagins to reconnect and on February 4th, 2024, they entered into covenant relationship and became one flesh!

Together with his wife, Dr. Rose Ann, has served in the capacity of Taking It to The Streets – Tent Revival, Each One, Reach One, Feed One – Homeless Shelters, Increasing Faith Bible College (2025)
